Cinaz, Burcu

Burcu Cinaz is a PhD student at the Wearable Computing Laboratory of ETH Zurich, Switzerland. She received her diploma degree in Computer Science at the University of Bremen in Germany. During her studies, she worked as a student research assistant at the Center for Computing Technologies (TZI), where she was first concerned with wearable computing. In her diploma thesis she focused on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) for pedestrians using a head-mounted laser radar and inertial sensor. She is currently working on the European project ProFiTex that tries to provide excellent work safety with wearable technologies to support fire fighting personnel.

She joined the Wearable Computing Group in February 2009.
