With his diploma thesis (Genetic Algorithm for Feature Selection) Johannes Schumm finalized his study of electrical engineering at the RWTH Aachen. During his study he made an Erasmus semester at the University of Bath and performed afterwards his industrial internship in Sao Paulo. In August 2006 he joined the Wearable Group at the Electronics Laboratory and was involved in the European project SEAT. His current research focuses on the quality appraisal of unobtrusive physiological measurements.
