Originating from the beautiful mountains of Graubünden, I have come down to Zurich in 2000 to study Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich. My studies focused on Computer Networks and integrated circuit design. After having received my MSc in 2005, I started my PhD in the Wearable Computing Group, where I am now working on context recognition in dynamically composed Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks (WSAN).

I have finished my PhD in 2009 and am now working at the IBM Research Lab in Zurich

Research Interests

I am working on the IST SENSEI project with the title Integrating the Physical with the Digital World of the Network of the Future where I concentrate on the following topics:

Activities

I have been Local Organization Chair and Program Co-Chair for the EuroSSC 2008 conference.

Since 2006, I am the president of the Association of the scientific staff at the ITET department, called VMITET.

Teaching

For the winter semester 2006/07 I have been the main supervisor for the Digitaltechnik course

In the spring semesters of 2006 and 2008 I have lead the "Smart Toys" group of the Wearable Computing Seminar
