I studied Computer Science at University Politehnica, Bucharest (UPB) in Romania. During my studies I worked as a TA in algorithms analysis and design, and was a student research assistant in the Mobile and Vehicular Networks group (a joint collaboration between UPB and Laboratory for Networked Systems and Security (Disco Lab) - Rutgers University). As part of my master studies, I completed various internships across Europe in organizations such IBM Zürich Research Lab and INRIA (France). I joined the Wearable Computing Group in November 2011, and defended my PhD thesis in November 2015.

UPDATE: If you are interested in the Cupid dataset, please write us.

We make available upon request (due to the their size) the datasets collected for Ambient_Phone_Sensor Ambient Intelligence 2013 work (getting the context from ambient phone sensors) and for WPNC 2015 Ambient_Sensors_Indoor (detection of indoor location in a home with ambient phone sensors). Please contact me if you are interested in having them.

Personal corner

In a previous life, I used to spend my free time playing violin, using a simple photo camera to catch the expressiveness of the nature and of the people, or discuss politics with my friends. Now my free time is dedicated to cooking experiments, DIY around the house (sometimes with sensors), reading (contemporary literature), hiking (my latest adventures were in Fraser Island-Australia and in Negev-Israel), and of course eating chocolate :).
